Dahlia (UK: /ˈdliə/ DAY-lee-əUS: /ˈdæljə, ˈdɑːljə, ˈdljə/ DA(H)L-yə, DAYL-yə) is a genus of bushy, tuberousherbaceous perennial plants native to Mexico and Central America. Dahlias are members of the Asteraceae (synonym name: Compositae) family of dicotyledonous plants, its relatives include the sunflowerdaisychrysanthemum, and zinnia. There are 49 species of dahlia, with flowers in almost every hue (except blue), with hybrids commonly grown as garden plants.

Our journey is one of careful cultivation, dedicated research, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Although we are a very new enterprise, Pure Dahlias strives to provide quality locally grown tubers and flowers by adapting our techniques to the unique climate of the Kapiti Coast. Our history is rooted in the soil and science, creating a legacy of floral excellence.
